Nicolette Weir, LGPC
“When we’re growing up there are all sorts of people telling us what to do when really what we need is space to work out who to be.” - Elliot Page
Mrs. Nicolette Weir is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland. She has a Master of Education in School Counseling, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Mrs. Weir previously worked in education for nearly 10 years as a teacher in middle and high school general and special education math. Through those years she gained experience working with a variety of disabilities. Adolescence is a time of much change, both internal and external. In the classroom, Mrs. Weir would give students a safe space to learn about themselves and explore the challenges before them. This is the same goal she has for her therapeutic environment. Mrs. Weir wants to take the time to collaborate with the client in learning about them to best meet their needs as we work towards their goals. She hopes that clients will feel comfortable and empowered to try new tools that address the challenges they are currently facing. Mrs. Weir will support each client as an individual. She will meet them where they are on their growth journey.
Mrs. Weir is currently a high school counselor. She has experience working with adolescents and adults through individual and group counseling. She specializes in anxiety, depression, and neurodiversity. Mrs. Weir utilizes a holistic approach with a focus on Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
