Ms. Jenelle Mathis is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland. She graduated from Bowie State University with a Master of Education in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Prior to receiving her LCPC, Ms. Mathis worked as a case manager in low-income communities serving adults and children with disabilities and social-emotional issues. Ms. Mathis has a passion for working with adolescence and young adults who are at a critical crossroad in their lives trying to find themselves. It is her goal in every session to create a therapeutic environment where clients can feel seen, accepted, and understood. She believes in understanding the whole client and working collaboratively with them to accomplish their goals and aspirations in order to achieve personal growth. Ms. Mathis understands no two clients are the same and will support each client on their own individual journey while respecting their thoughts, feelings, and voice.
Ms. Mathis is currently a full-time middle school counselor. She has experience working with children, young adolescents, and adults. Additionally, she has experience in working with families and leading groups. Ms. Mathis believes in a holistic approach but her primary theoretical framework is centered around Solution Focused Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
