Dr. Taisha Martin, LCPC

Dr. Taisha Martin is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Approved Supervisor in the state of Maryland. She has: a Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision, Master of Arts in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University (2012), and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bowie State University (2007).

Dr. Martin’s vision of counseling is similar to planting; one must lay the foundation, plant the seed, make sure the soil is right, prepare and then wait for all the elements to come into place. She believes it is important to build relationships with clients to find out what their strengths, weaknesses, interests and motivations are in order to develop their treatment plan. By building relationships, Dr. Martin works with clients to create and effectively implement a climate which allows people to thrive. She believes in the power of teamwork in counseling and recognizes the importance of maximizing each client’s potential to help them be successful.

Dr. Martin currently works full time as a Middle School Counselor. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in schools and mental health settings. Dr. Martin is skilled in working with clients in individual and group settings. She has worked with survivors of domestic violence and children who have witnessed and experienced trauma. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Reality Therapy in helping her clients to reach their therapy goals.
